Merry Christmas babes! Today I woke up at 1 (?!)... Probably a mix of jet-lag and coming home around 3 last night. We all went for a nice long walk in the park and had a very cozy and relaxing day. My uncle and his family came over for dinner at Bakas house. Ribs among other goodies were on the menu. Tomorrow is a busy day filled with fun things such as taking my cousins shopping <3
Here comes pictures from today! In Sweden we celebrate Christmas on the 24th not the 25th. I haven't seen my cousins in years (they live in Switzerland) so I way beyond happy to get to hug them, they have gotten so big!! Anyway, we spent all day in their new summer home celebrating. Best Christmas in years <3
My pretty mom and the Christmas Tree!
My pretty Baka (grandmother in Croatian) <3
My cousins <3 So much love! Hedda and Max, and Snowy Vranjes, of course.
Baka and Mamma <3
Baka got me new slippers now that I am in Sweden and it is cold here, haha.
Donald Duck show always starts at three and ends at four. Here is my favorite segment, The Bull Ferdinand! Afterwards you always open presents.
We always have a puzzle every Christmas. Such fun entertainment. Everyone was so focused!
We are in Sweden! We arrived safely to Sweden with all of our luggage. We had dinner with Baka and Branko and then went grocery shopping (love love love grocery shopping back here at home). I then headed over to see Tove. We went shopping (hehe) and then decided to get food from Vapiano. We had a cozy day and ended it with the new hyped TV show SKAM, cuddles, and snacks. Now I am back at Baka's place and ready for bed. Kicked Branko out of his bed and made him sleep in the basement (poor thing, the basement is scary!). But I get to wake up next to Baka tomorrow, it is like being a kid again and I love it. HUGS
How cute is this Santa tree??
Today I started my day like any other day, snoozing to my alarm. I was so mad at myself this morning for booking a Flywheel class but once I got up, and worked out, I was beyond happy. My endorfins were all over the place and I got SO much done before work, best feeling ever. I also got my grades back, four A's and two B's, wihooooo! Great day. Hope you all have a happy Friday <3
Finaste Baka fyller år idag! Ska bli så mysigt att kunna ge henne massa pussar och kramar snart. Längtar så mycket <3
Lucia in Atlanta this year, as pretty as always. Usually I am singing not listening and watching, but it was way better to be on the other side this year ;). Due to school and work I couldn't participate this year. It was beautiful to listen to the incredible singing. HUGS
Still no fun status update for you guys. As I am still sick and have been in bed all day, I have not taken any pictures unfortunately. Tomorrow I have my first final and two essays, and a group project to turn in. In the meantime, I hope you guys like these Christmas inspo pictures. I found them all on Pinterest. Don't forget to follow me there. HUGS
Here comes a post about my feelings about Christmas and some insight into how our house is decorated. Enjoy friends!
There are strings of light everywhere around the house to light it up. Some are outside in our backyard as well. I just love lights. It makes everything so cozy, don't you guys agree?
A fun fact for you guys, my mom has made almost all of our "tomtar". What are they called in English? Does anyone know? Google translate says gnomes but that doesn't sound right. Anyways, back to mom! She is amazing, our tomtar are so cute and so detailed. She handcrafted them so perfectly, and even sew the hats, that is the level of detail she put into making our tomtar.
Första advent is the first of advent. It is the first of the four Sundays before Christmas. So here you see how we count it down! One candle for the first advent, two candles for the second advent, and so on.
More of moms craft, just look at how she braided that hair! We also have Christmas table runners on every surface allowing it, as well as Christmas kitchen towels etc. Pretty much every corner of our house is decorated in some way shape or form. I wish I could show you guys all the decorations but then this post would never end.
Of course my craft from my childhood is displayed throughout the house as well. Here you see a handmade Lucia with some clay mice that I made way back when.
I wish I could have captured the outside of the house better but it was tricky. We are lighting up the whole neighborhood.
I managed to find tomtar made in Sweden at Home Goods, how great? Guess if I was excited!
This Swedish guy on the right was also found at Home Goods.
It is safe to say I LOVE Christmas. Can you guys tell? Haha. I am very strict about not putting decorations up before the first of advent. Once it is first advent, or the day before, then I go all out. I am as much in a Christmas spirit as can be and I have been playing Christmas music nonstop since yesterday! I feel like if you keep it to one month, and go all out every year, it is something great to look forward to. But when stores and such start in October and November I feel like Christmas looses the cozy feel which is why I ignore it until December hits. I am also BEYOND EXCITED to be going home for Christmas this year and spending it in my hometown for the first time in nine years. How do you guys feel about Christmas?
