Hi friends. How is everyone's week going? It is hump day, which is always exiting! We are halfway through the week! Tomorrow I am driving my mom and her husband to the airport, they are going to Switzerland and Croatia. I am mentally preparing myself for all the pictures I will receive and how jealous I will get, hehe. So long, HUGS.
Hi friends. Please accept my sincerest apologies for going MIA. I cannot guarantee that I am back fully just yet, but hopefully I can blog more than once every other two weeks. I should be back to blogging regularly after July 29th.
Why have I been gone? Where have I been? What have I been doing? I have not been blogging due to my workload in school. I am used to traveling during the summers, not having classes every day (although I will travel again in August, YAY, but more on that later). I am taking two of the toughest classes I have ever taken before, in addition to a third class. The classes have the same number of assignments, exams, work, etc. as regular three-four month classes, only we have to get everything done in seven weeks. After this summer semester is over I will finally have officially graduated though!! My days the past month have looked like this: wake up at 7am, get up at 8am. Workout, study, go to class, study, go to bed around 2am. During the weekends I have worked and studied. I am mentally exhausted and drained, as well as very sleep deprived, but I am not complaining because I can see the finish line. I will say that I have finally been working out consistently every week and I do not think I would have been able to keep my head above water these past couple of weeks without working out. Endorphins are the best. Thank you for reading this rant. HUGS
Hi friends. Today I thought I would tackle a topic I should be a pro at by now, studying.
It is not fun (I am sorry but that is the truth), but we have to do it in order to be successful, right? This can be applied for those of you who are not in school as well because we should always further educate ourselves and try to acquire new knowledge.
So, what makes me a so called pro in studying? Well, I have survived (almost at least) four years of college at three different universities (two of them being located in the US and one in Sweden). Not only have I almost survived these four years, but I have done so by maintaining my GPA at a 3.75 (4 is an A, 3 points for a B). For those of you who have no clue what that means, I have never received a grade below B.
How do you study successfully?
1. Change your environment
I love to sit at local coffee houses to study. It might seem expensive to pay $4-$5 for a coffee, but I think it is worth it. Why is this? Well, if i sit at a coffee shop to study instead of at home, I get more done in a shorter amount of time. Instead of getting distracted by everything at home (such as TV, cleaning, running to the fridge, etc.) I want to be on my best behavior in public and therefore I do my best to focus on what I am supposed to be doing. I have found that spending those five dollars is well worth it.
2. Make lists
If you know me, you know I am very dependent on my lists. I tend to forget a lot of things, but by writing lists I stay organized. It is such a satisfying feeling to check things off on a list once they are completed.
I try to make two types of lists each week on post it notes, sometimes a make daily ones in addition to my two weekly ones. My two weekly lists are, “urgent”, and “looking ahead”. On the urgent list I include items that I need to get done that week (or day) such as assignments, homework, essays, and quizzes that I need to study for. On the looking ahead list I write down things that are coming up in the near future (next week or the week thereafter) that take longer to finish such as studying for exams, doing projects, and writing research essays.
3. Invest in an agenda
Who would I be without my beloved agenda? Well for one, I would always be late and forget majority of the things I would ever have to get done. In my agenda, I like to store my lists and post it notes. I also write everything down in here (and yes, I mean EVERYTHING). I always transfer all my due dates for everything from my syllabuses on the first day of class to my agenda. In addition to school, I find it very important to write down when I work, when I am hanging out with people, when I have meetings, when I have school events, etc. You get it, everything goes in my agenda. How does this relate to studying?
By having everything written down, I can also plan my week accordingly. If I have a lot in school next week, but also a lot of fun stuff planned, and my current week is pretty airy, I try to get most of the following week's stuff done the previous week. It is easier for me to work ahead and complete assignments beforehand and also study ahead of time instead of on Sunday nights.

Sorry for my absence here the past week. Lets just say life happened, and I had a terrible week with too many bad days. I will not go into details but I am feeling better, and I am in much of a better mood! Thank you guys for being understanding. HUGS
Tip of the day: If you want to look healthy eating a pasta just throw some arugula on it (you are welcome). All jokes aside, I love arugula. I love it on pizza, pasta, sandwiches, with salmon, in salads, you name it. It will make anything feel fresh and taste even better.
Started my morning today with a run/walk around the neighborhood. What a pretty morning! I love spring. I know majority of Atlanta's population is dealing with pollen allergies, but I have been lucky enough to not have been affected by it (knocking on wood as we speak!), other than my car turning green but I will take that over allergies any day!
Just look at what a gorgeous day out!
After my shower, I made my quick go to breakfast, cereal with kefir, avocado, and chocolate milk (yes I love chocolate milk, just like any other kid, hehe).
Some pre nine hour workday selfies.
I bring lunch to work 99% of the time, but today I decided to enjoy lunch at Whole Foods. YUM. Do you guys like my napkin table cloth? Haha.
Exhausted after a busy day at work preparing for inventory, I made some ginger green tea, and put out some FriYAY treats.
We rented two movies so time to relax for the day and have a cozy evening <3
Ps. I would love to hear your thoughts about more relaxed posts like these. Do you guys like them?
I really wish I was back at The James Chicago, what a wonderful stay we had. The location was perfect, we were in the heart of Chicago. The staff at the hotel were so kind and helpful with everything from restaurant recommendations to sightseeing options. I have nothing but good things to say about this place! HUGS
Hi friends. I have been looking forward to today for over a month, it is my first Sunday off during two years that I have not requested off (for my travels, etc.). Wihoooooo! Unfortunately, I woke up feeling terrible with a throat on fire and very runny nose. At least I have been able to relax, clean, and hangout on the couch all day. The best part of all, I have been able to spend time with mom <3
Gotta love a cup of happiness from Starbucks. Today has been such a productive yet fun day! How has your day been? What is your poison at Starbucks?
This is how I wish I was spending my Sunday night but instead I have a date with my school books and school assignments, yay me. Wish me luck!
